Fan/AC LED lights - flickering up and down - any ideas?

Hey chaps,
was wondering if this strange behaviour I'm seeing in my Sag is 'normal' eccentric TVR behaviour, or if I need to get something fixed.
Basically, whenever I change either the temperature or the fan blower speed on my Sag (so whenever I touch either dial), both sets of LEDs on both dials flicker back down to zero. Then, maybe 3-4 seconds later, they come back on, all the way up to the right marker points (ie. reflecting the new temp or blower speed).
Symptom is a little hard to describe in a post but if you've seen it in your car - you'll know what I mean
It is quite annoying as it makes slight adjustments nigh on impossible.

My T350 does the same when I adjust the temperature, although this only affects the fan speed indicator.
The fan also shuts off temporarily - I just assumed it was normal behaviour and that the reason for it was not to put too much load on the motor that controls the temperature flap position...

My Sagaris (and all others I`ve seen or test-drove) never did this 
but its a TVR so..
I know internally when you adjust the temperature the "heater flap" is adjusted to mix the hot/cold air correctly, therefore the fan should pause whilst this is being done (I find mine runs at about 5% when the flap is moving to the new temp)
On my Sag the heater ECU will normally not display to the user the actual position of the flap or the speed of the fan when its doing this adjustment - on the fan speed LED's the first one stay lit until the flap has moved to the correct position..
Its almost like your ECU is showing the fan speed throughout the process, rather than lighting only the first fan speed LED.
Could just be different ECU's
