I'm after a good cheap automatic watch, I realise the words good/cheap/automatic don't necessarily sit comfortably together hehe.
I'm not interested in quartz, prefer a black simple face with a leather/material strap, do not like bling ones either with 20 'other' dials I'll never use. I'd love an IWC one day but tbh that's not going to happen.
What are the collective thoughts on say something south of £150 confused

I am going to ask Neil(?) for commission

www.wernersflyingwatches.com There's a military watch in black with a black strap, black face and red numerals. Might be right down your street.

And then there are the Eco-drive militaries:

I am hopefully looking to get one of these soon, which seems to meet your criteria.

+1.

I really like the military-type ones they do, picked up one of these:

..for about £25 delivered off ebay from one of the Singapore sellers. It's great - keeps pretty good time (it'll gain about 3-4 mins a month), it's solidly built and you really can't argue at that sort of price.

That looks like the dg2813 movement, same as the ultimate bargain automatic watches available at Lidl for £15 each!

Sold thumbup, I see they are about £60 through UK sites though, which is still pretty good.

They do a few variations of that with strap/face colour - I've seen green, blue and a desert-type beige. I'm guessing the K-number refers to the colour variant.

I have quite a large collection of watches, mostly low cost auto's & mechanicals.

Why I have so many?I just think that '5's' are great value.

Fair enough but when you have that many, it makes me wonder what you could have bought if you just spent it all in one go. biggrin

I am just teasing. I know the feeling. Would rather have a different watch for different occasions... one for special occasions, one for bumming about, one for doing dangerous/active stuff, one for client visits. All looking nice (to my eye).
