Speed sensor unit help

Hi all - hoping for some wisdom please

My speedo has stopped responding. A quick read of the tips in the build manual and inspection show I have a yellow LED on constantly on the pick up sensor when rotating wheel, which isnt right.

I suspect that means it still has power, but could the sensor unit malfuntion through over-enthusiastic jet washing? (yes, yes, I know - never again but had fresh manure everywhere from a farm track and needed emergency measures to get the cack off!!)

Could it be a fuse even though there is obviously still power?

take it apart and give it plenty of wd 40

make sure the trigger wheel is clean and free from rust
