Wireless ipod dock ?
Discussion
I'm looking for a smart solution to link my ipod up to my stereo.
My stereo pipes music through the house via in-built speakers, so idealy I would like to select tracks/playlists on the ipod and have it then feed via the stereo.
Best solution i've found so far is the Roth dock
This enables you to move the ipod around to different rooms and still wirelessly feed your hi-fi.
Are there any other alternatives out there ?

Small pc (such as a mac mini) linked to your stereo, and the free remote software from apple on your Touch. Allows you to control your iTunes on the PC via the Touch as if you were choosing tracks on your ipod.
Do you need a special audio card for good quality sound ?Shadytree said:

Do you need a special audio card for good quality sound ?As far as audo cards go - I suppose you could get a dedicated balanced audio output card, which would reduce external interference and noise, but you'll be playing mp3s from it anyway so it's probably not worth the effort. To make the most of it, you'd also need balanced inputs on your amplifier as well.

I'm perfectly happy, but then I rip my CDs at 192kbps so I'm not an audio barometer by any standard.Gassing Station | The Pie & Piston Archive | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
