just wondered if any of you have strange or illogical aversions to certain foodstuffs.

i personally don't. i'll try anything once and if i don't like the taste/texture i'll stay clear. not a fan of cooked veg and bananas, but am not scared of them either.

however, my OH has an absolute fear of baked beans. she can't even say the words, doesn't like hearing them and won't even allow me to eat them in her presence. if we have a cooked breakfast out i have to take the waiter aside and stress how much grief he's in for if it comes with baked beans. so far, the worst reaction was when watching 'tommy' with the famous anne margaret scene......

still haven't found out why as she refuses to discuss it. so hopefully some of you with similar food fears can try and explain it to me.

My missus cannot stand it when a fish comes out with its head still on. It has a couple of times despite specifically insisting that the dish be served sans head. A dead cooked fish staring back at her totally freaks her out and quashes any appetite she had...

Me, nothing really. The thought of black pudding turns my stomach, but it's hardly a fear...

My missus hates onions in things she knows have onions in - if she has no idea than she's fine.
Except pickled onions, she eats those. And onion rings. And caramelised onions.

Mad as a box of frogs.
