Race of champions, travel advice neede!
Discussion
The girlfriend has just called and told me I’m having an early xmas present. She has got two tickets for the race of champions this coming Sunday at Wembley and understandably I’m chuffed to bits.
Anyhoo, We want to drive most of the way but I understand the stadium is a public transport venue only so which train routes or nearby parking close to Wembley could you guys recommend? We'll be coming from the south coast if that will make a difference!
Any advice much appreciated!

Look up Preston Road station, it's the next station after Wembley park on the Metropolitan line, and you can normally park in one of the side roads or main roads fairly easily on a sunday. Just jump on stop on the tube and hey presto.. !!Anyhoo, We want to drive most of the way but I understand the stadium is a public transport venue only so which train routes or nearby parking close to Wembley could you guys recommend? You don't indicate where you are travelling from (unless I cannot read) but if travelling from Birmingham I would get train from somewhere like Bicester North/Haddenham & Tham Parkway - easy access off the M40 without getting too involved with finding the station and Car Parks.

I am blind...so south coast...then consider coming round M25 And hoping off and aiming for Denham Railway Station or as mentioned above the Metropolitan line www.chilternrailways.co.uk

well thats encouraging!!
Fingers crossed its better this year. I take it you won’t be going again? I'll be sure to wrap up warm, take some sandwiches, let the missus drive and kip on the way back. Should be able to have a better time than you at least

I went last year to the freezing cold empty stadium, and had a brilliant time with my dad and bro - and will be going on Sunday too. Cannot wait!! Will be taking a LOT of clothes this time though well thats encouraging!!

Me too, this time I'm taking my wife and 6 yr old daughter with me

Personally I couldnt think of anything better than watching numerous cars going bwwwaarrrrp round a circuit for a good few hours! really cant wait

Cold, expensive rubbish food, and probably a half-empty stadium again. And if you're parking, a massive queue to get out and back to the North Circular.
Have fun!
i am going again this year as ticket free! but i do agree with sjg, so be warned, rap up warm and take loads of money or a bag full of pot noddles and a kettle Have fun!
