Sorry if this has been done to death - I rarely venture into this thread.

Thought I'd post up what my plans are in the hope that I might get some additional ideas.

Both sets of parents are coming so I'm planning to make it as boozy as possible to ease my way through the day - the thought of spending a day with both my parents and in-laws fills me with dread TBH.

Starter.

Large field mushrooms stuffed with a good Stilton and breadcrumbs with a very small glass of vintage port.

Main

A Mustard Mash
Dried apricots wrapped in locally smoked bacon.
Chippo' sausages wrapped in the same.
Braised red cabbage
Sprouts done with chestnuts and pancetta.
Turkey etc.
Bread sauce
Carrots
A mountain of goose fat roasted potatoes.

Need tips for a decent red wine - suggestions (no more than a tenner as I'd rather spend on the Brandy and Port)

Pud

Will be bought xmas pud, with lashings of cheap brandy and white sauce. Suggestions needed for a good pud.

Large glass of good Brandy or Vintage Port.

Afternoon of coffee and single malt, and no doubt some gout.

Have I missed anything obvious?
