southampton to kensington by car.

hey guys, i don't know if this is the right area to post but here goes........
im looking at driving to Kensington tomorrow morning but obviously i want to avoid the congestion charge, do you guys have any idea of good places to park on the outskirts of London with good links to the city?

This probably isn't the answer you are looking for but I would suggest Southampton Parkway (the railway station next to the airport), that way you avoid the 60 miles of gridlock and sky high blood pressure that is the M3.

M3 then M25 then M4 towards London. Come off at Chiswick. 10 mins on the tube from anywhere around there to Kensington and there is a fair amount of non permit parking.

m4 will be a it busy though wont it ! as will chiswick and the western section of the M25 is always snarled up

at the end of the M3 id be tempted to dip into woking at J3 ... then london is about 30 mins from the mainline

You could come up the A3 and park at Weybridge/Walton upon Thames. 30 minutes into Waterloo

Drive up to Overton railway Station, just West of Basingstoke and park for free, plus you get a seat on the train before the bulk of the commuters get on. 50 - 55 mins to Waterloo with no stress.
