Freeview Program Guide not working

For some reason the guide on my Panny tv with built-in freeview stopped working correctly yesterday. I can only "launch" the guide from certain channels and when I do have it up it goes back to the tv channel I was watching if I try to use the guide to see what is on channel 9!!!
At present I'm renting and the aerial is in the loft and I cannot get BBC1, 2, 3 or News 24. The TV wanted to download new services on Saturday which I stopped as the weak signal for BBC means I get no guide for BBC at all if I do a download.
Any solution to my guide issue?

Oh my God, and there was me thinking it was just me!
We have a Panasonic TX37-LZD80 and, yesterday, the Guide started doing exactly the same thing.
I reset everything back to "shipping condition" then set it up again, to no avail.
It's so frustrating isn't it? We can only get the TV Guide from BBC1. When in the Guide, we can only move upwards, not down - or else it goes back to BBC1. And Channels 7-14 have mysteriously gone missing from the Guide completely.
I spent about half an hour on the net last night looking for some sort of fix for it, without success.
How long have you had your TV? Ours is less than 6 months old. I was going to get in touch with the retailer if it hadn't sorted itself out within a couple of days, but having read your post I'm now thinking that it's not necessarily specific to me.

me too, Panasonic 32" something or other. Yesterday guide either doesn't come on or it flick off before you've chosen channel, I just used the up and down button instead to see whats on. I assume a firmware upgrade will appear and sort it.

Can you view the channels you're trying to see the guide for with no interruption? If the channel you are trying to watch has little or no signal, you cannot access the guide, if you are watching a channel with a good signal, and enter the guide to see what is currently on another channel with no signal, you will not be able to view the guide and it will probably crash. Unfornunately if you live anywhere that is 10 miles or more from a large city you'll probably only be able to access half of the multiplexes, missing out on lots of channels.

It's more random than that!! I can see the guide for a channel I can't receive and I can launch the guide from a channel I can't receive. Of all the channels I cannot receive it's only trying to look at the epg listings for Channel 9 (BBC4) that crashes the guide and reverts me back to the tv channel !! igiveup said:

National issue. Spoke to Pana' and they are investigating. They believe it has been caused by a change in the way the epg [electronic programme guide] is broadcast. They will release a software download if needed for ota [over the air] update, or get the transmitters to be rectified. No timescale given as it has come out of the blue!!
