I took out a British Gas Homecare plan for my gas CH boiler. That was in September. The first installment was paid in October and then each month until now - so 3 installments taken from my account. In the blurb it states that this includes an initial boiler inspection "soon" after you sign up for the deal. Well, it's been 4 months since I signed up and have made 3 months of payments but still no contact from them regarding any inspection until 2 weeks ago. I sent an email and had a reply to that email 10 days later rolleyes. The email appologised for the late reply and said an engineer would call on a certain day unless I indicated another date was more suitable. Well, their suggested date was no good so I suggested two other dates. That was 8 working days ago and still no reply. My suggested dates are comong up very soon.

I now seem to have developed a problem with the boiler. How do I stand with this? Their initial inspection is there to determine if the boiler is a) not too old for their servicing and b) to make sure the boiler is ok and doesn't have a problem. If they come now and there is a problem "before" their initial inspection, can they refuse to pay for the repair as per the contract? They have taken my money now for three months, so would they have to repair the boiler on their initial inspection which takes place so late?

Do you not have a telephone? Pick it up and call the number they gave you. Then it will be sorted out.

If I have to hang on for more than 10 mins I hang up, it's unacceptable. Tried 3 times at different times of the day and get the same thing.

I know you are not going to like this, and I agree that it is wrong that you have to hold for so long but you really must bite the bullet and hang on in there. Half the time i am on this place I am on hold!
