Last Christmas I ordered a Hock of ham thinking it was going to be the size of those hams you see in France. When I went to collect it I was suprised to see it was the complete rear leg of the animal which was massive
. So I spent the best part of christmas eve trying to butcher this thing to get it to a size that would fit in the pot!!!
Where did I go wrong?? Can anyone tell me what I should of asked for??

Get you Butcher to take the two slipper joints off and the hock, then take the bone out and roll the main joint. Job done.
