Besides from the usual Vectra, Omega, Volvo, Mondeo lot what unmarked pig cars have you guys seen (or been stopped by!)
I've been stopped by a white Escort RS Turbo between Poynton and Macclesfield (The "Mad mile" as its known) I'm not saying he was trying to bait people into racing him but he was driving "enthusiastically" to say the least!
A mate of mine was pulled over by an E36 M3. Surprised him to say the least when the blue lights in the grill came on!

I once saw a Porsche 968 with two very smug looking coppers in it, it had a very strange blue light which went all the way around and seemed to be built into the trim.

Golf VR6 on the A57 Snake Pass between Sheffield and Glossop - luckily it is for chasing drug runners from Manchester and they tend to let you off with a warning if you're kosher.

BMW 316 Compact on M62 in Liverpool . . . well the badges say 316, but it seems bloody fast.

Saab 9000 Turbo on A34 south of Oxford. He was already doing about 120mph when he shot past me and a lorry I was behind. As he was going so fast I had to brake sharply as I was about to overtake the lorry. I pulled out to chase him (at a distance) and we got past 140mph before I calmed down and pulled back in. Then he slowed down as well and the passenger window went down and a copper in the drivers seat smiled, wagged his finger at me and sped off. Nice chap!

Silver BMW 5 series on the M6 between the A14 and Brum. Very sublte. Amusingly, it'd just pulled over a Ford Ka. (Mind you, a Ka will indicate over a ton if you're trying...)

Bright Red Honda Integra Type R - caught me on A4 in Wiltshire. A gift from Honda Swindon I have since heard to the local constabulary. I don't think I'll be buying a Honda in the future or giving to the Police charity Ball for that matter.

Peugeot 406, dark blue. Southend, Saturday night.

Watch out for it, it's quite old looking, but clean.

M27 Junc 8 - 12; Blue 5 series, burgundy 5 series, Blue T5 saloon, Blue VR6, even running an old red(ish) Senator as late as last summer. Anyone else notice the blue theme with Hants Constab?

There was this once (about 12months ago?) what looked like a fire or something (not sure exactly but police acted like it was either a bomb or a serious arson attack or something) near Brent Cross in London and they had closed the road heading eastbound, opposite side to me, and parked up one the side was around 20 standard police cars and vans and 10 unmarked:

2 Escort Cosworth's 1 grey 1 black
BMW M3 Yellow coupe (seen this one around still in N and NW London)
BMW 5 series
VW Golf VR6
Saab 9000 Turbo
and others that I can't remember. It looked like a car show!! Now we know where taxpayers money is going!

The Jags actually made good business sense for the fleet managers who jumped on the band wagon bloody quickly and bought a load when Jag were daft enough to offer a 3 year un restricted mileage warrenty with no sorry no police cars clause. They basically got all the repairs done for nowt over the 3 years and clocked up god knows how many hundred thousand miles.

For my offering I saw a new Skoda hatch back thing (sorry not up on skoda names) with the 4 aerials on the roof and the works parked up in Kent. Not exotic but unusual. Also has anyone noticed the sudden use of the silver base colour on the marked cars apparently it's again financial as silver cars have a better residual than white !

There are a number of M-Class Merc marked police cars in SW London. Any particular reason you need a Merc boys? Or is it just to lure car-jackers?

They should all have Discovery's. The UK police force should drive British cars and British cars alone. You wouldnt catch an American cop in anything but the land crabs they drive (Crockett and Tubbs excepted) so why does our money get furnish that bunch of undereducated lazy thugs with luxury cars?

Wonder if TVR could sew up a deal. Police Cerberas. You could argue that they could then guarantee to catch the scrotes driving off into the distance.

Errrr.

Better than the Porkers that Thames Valley and Surrey forces tried.

Steady now, thats not a cue to start the Porsche v's TVR debate again!

Thames Valley may have tried Porkers, but unfortunately the anti-car muppets knew so little about cars they ended up with a herd of saddlebacks
