Hello peeps,

I've recently bought a 2002 L322 4.4, which is great. The satnav isn't great though (not compared with today's standards, anyway!), but despite the old fashioned interface I think I will use it. Does anyone know if it's possible to get a newer map CD for it?

Ta,

The easiest way of updating the system is to use the Mk4 dvd unit from a BMW 7 series/X5 etc. You get better functions along with a more up to date map.

If you click this link your wallet will start to sweat.....

Thanks, that looks good - but ouch on the price! (You could buy a selection of Tomtoms and Garmins for that!) I'll keep an eye out on eBay but I'm guessing 2nd hand units aren't the easiest to come by.

In the meantime, does anyone know if there's an update CD/DVD available for the 2002-spec system?

Thanks

Here's where you can get the updated CDs. May also be worth looking on Ebay?

I have a similar dilemma (06 model) but I’m not impressed with the outdated functions and lack of flexibility of the OEM Sat Nav plus the £150 for a new map DVD when compared with a TomTom 540 with live traffic info etc for £240.

Why don’t OEM’s use TomTom software in their units?

The eBay seller of such items as 220325429706 claims they will work on early L322s, and will also enable full postcode search - does anyone know if this is actually true? It doesn't look like the Navtech disc I might expect.

Thanks,

Ruari
