always cycle to work early morning, short sprint both on and off road on grass mud and tarmac, got good set of led lights yet this morning got caught out big style.it was chucking it down but still couldnt be assed to take car so put water proofs on and set off..i live on one hell of a bank with hump back bridge at bottom ,on which i have to turn left, went down bank flat out as always started to turn slightly and it just slid away from me on black ice .unfortunatly for me bridge has recently had a curb put over it in to which i tumbled, and banged my head, elbow is now size of egg but worst of all my house key in rear pocket had pierced my butt cheek..ouch.so beware just because i thought it mild enough to be raining ice can be lurking under the surface water..take care all on these winter roads.thumbup

Thanks for the Advice Ashman. I love early morning rides, especially this time of the year. Will def keep an eye out for the black stuff.

Had two off's last week with ice on the road so i have put off road tyres on the old bike which have improved things a tad, pity they have not used my road tax i am not using to grit the roads but it looked just as fun with four wheels never mind two !
