Blown Fuse : Ignition Coils - Fuse 17

Ok....... After having the tuscan for six months, and not problems at all. A few days ago I was driving out of the garage and it stalled. As I'd only just started the engine, I put it down to me using too low revs, or the engine just being cold. Tried to re-start it, but it wouldn't fire, and I could smell the petrol. Thought I'd flooded it, so left it for a few hours and tried again. Exactly the same, turned over well, but wouldn't fire. Decided to push it back into the garage (Embarrassing as I'd promised to take my buddy to the BMW garage to collect his M5 after a service........... You can imagine the ribbing I took).

Yesterday I went through the logical tests and found that I was getting no spart to the plug leads.....checked the fuses and found that fuse number 17 (Iginition Coil Fuse - 15amp) was blown. Replaced it and the car fired up instantly and is running perfect again.

The Question is : Should I be looking for a reason why the fuse blew, or accept the fact that this can sometimes happen, and fuses don't last forever ??????

On later Tuscans this fuse was replaced with a 20 Amp one as the 15 Amp was a bit borderline.

20 amp fuse fitted.
