Recruitment Consultancy - which industry in the crunch?

Hypothetical question as I've just been made redundant due to the "slowdown!"
I have considered RC as a job (maybe as a career too
) in the past as I have sales and marketing experience and fancy doing something slightly different.
I hear on the grapevine that like many other industries, RC is struggling due to the crunch, but as with everything else, it depends what industry you are in or in the case of RCs, which you are recruiting for. This gives the question, what areas are not falling on their arses in terms of RC?
I thought public sector in the short-medium term as a significant one, but really not sure of what else. Having come from construction I know that is a tumbleweed area, IT and Finance I would guess are slow rather than stopped, but not rapidly growing at the moment... What do people think?
I have done some research and if I do take the plunge, I would ideally be looking for temp/temp-->perm/contract recruitment with team commission and a reputable company. However the crunch isn't an ideal world so who knows!
I'd be grateful for any thoughts from those in the industry about the best way forward and what industries might just provide some growth in the crunching, sorry coming months?

Really? I've got more work in said sector than i've had all year. Depends where your focus is i guess.
Public sector is a red herring, there won't be much recruitment going on there i'm afraid...

Really?We have enterprise architect, developer, oracle and SAP positions new in this week and that's on contract. Perms consultants have all done £20k+ fees this month each.
It's slowed down for sure - across all industries but public sector - but it's by no means dead. The biggest change is the amount of available people. I'm almost frightened to advertise for a project manager for example knowing I'll have 100 CVs inside of 12 hours!
