Is 24 Days Holiday actually the Legal Minimum?

Are you sure you don't get 20 days + statutory days (ie Christmas/New Year) so making 24?

It goes up to 28 days as of April next year!

Yes indeed it is. And even better news for employees it goes up to 28 days in April. Saying that though they are allowed to take bank holidays out of that.

If memory serves me correctly, it's 16 days plus the 8 days of bank holidays. I preesume your 20 days is plus bank holidays?

I think that the 24 days is to cover bank holidays too IIRC

I'd wager you get 20 days plus the 8 days statutory banks holidays.

Ergo 28 is more than 24 so you are fine.

Errm. So it used to be 12+8. Now it's 16+8? going up to 20+8!???

Having said that most employers have been doing 20+8 for office workers for a long old while.

On the basis that I have my new job offer letter in front of me I can confirm that I will be getting 22 days plus the 8 bank holidays a year (and apparently they give some additional days at Xmas too according to people who I know that already work there).

So I'm happy - its all signed and ready to send off. Currently hoping to be given garden leave too!!!

The place my wife works closes down over Christmas but the staff are expected to use some of their holiday allowance for this...

I get 21 days, but 10 of those are included in our Christmas shut-down of two weeks, so I only get 11 days for my holiday when I want.

Ooof! I get 25 days + stats. Have to use some of my holiday for Christmas, usually only 3 or 4 days.
