hello! Can any1 help!! Got a manual fto gr, it's quite high milage and making a strange rubbing noise in low gears and low speed and in nuteral! It's coming from the gearbox end of engine, and it stops when u dip the clutch! Iv just replaced the clutch because I thought it woz the release bearing but it's no better! I asked the garage that replaced it and they said they can't see anything wrong! Any ideas?! Thanks!

If it was release bearing then it would happen with clutch in usually.

It could be the spigot bearing in the end of the crank, usually a graunchy squealy noise at tick over or low revs in gear with the clutch down.

Garage that replaced clutch said it woz fine! I read on the owners club that it could be just the exahust hanging rubber at the manifold or clutch spring?!? A possibilty? or it just me hoping it's not gonna cost!!

Just got the car over the pit for a poke about my self and found the rattle/rubbing noise is from were the drive shafts enter gearbox! Is there a bearing in there? Can u replace it? And would that stop the noise when clutch is pressed?

Yes, yes and it depends if that is the issue.

I would advise gong to a proper mechanic or this is going to get very expensive for you.

need get the driveshafts 2! There bout 3 different types off driveshaft and it's not different for each modle! U need chassis number and it not that easy off a eBay box! There ain't any engine mods just air filter!
