Hello to all,
I am really glad but my english is really bad and sorry for any grammatical error ectt..
i am carmine and live in rome-italy,30 years old,own from 4 years an z3m coupe, bit modded for track and start to track it from 2 years.I am stay looking some cars for replace my loved z3m and naturally the ultima gtr is really an dream for me..Passed some time reading this board and see yours are really enthusiast, because dont only drive it but also build it!
Unfortleney the ultima in italy is really rare,i never see one in life ,but know an guy owened one,his give some good info on it but tell had some problems whit the motor american speed..
My idea of use is ,3000-4000 milies and 4-5 trackday (not entire day but consider around 30 hours of track yearly)..Naturally i can't use it same my z3m,but an little round the 2-3 sunday for month, trackday not more far my home, and use an bit the august at my sea home (some nice empty road near it)
I consider enough for me an model whit 400hp or similar power...
Whithout consider the difficult for italian plate, find an meccanichs can adjust..
1.it's possible doing an conversion from rhd to lhd?
2.I dont had an personal garage, few free time, mechanicals knowledge and it's an problem for own an ultima..
3.It's true the americans speed if used on track possible to blow?I see some models whit accusump it's dont prevent it?
4.I eard also of another italian, doing run whit different ecu on it one for track and for road and whit the last arrived to cover around 7-8km/litre,it's possible?
For now had this question, want understand if ultima can be consider an toy street-track car or the ultimate track toy whit plate for trackadays..
Very compliments to all owners, because for me it's an dream and hope a day to realize it,naturally i stay looking for an used car not new...

Hi, The US ones are left hand drive so it's at least possible to have one but those will be built originally as left hand drives, I wouldn't recommend a convertion from a RHD car to LHD, just get an LHD one. I would think you could order one from the Hinckley factory in LHD.2.I dont had an personal garage, few free time, mechanicals knowledge and it's an problem for own an ultima..

Some ECU's have the facility to run different maps literally at the flick of a switch, I know Emerald have the capability for three switchable maps (called lunatic, road and wife as I recall). I would think Motec would also have this facility.
I think on street track car describes it quite well!

2. Any small local garage will be able to maintain your car as there is nothing very complicated.
3. Accusump will help but dry sump would be better. Any engine can fail when put on track because you are asking more of it than driving on the road. Most of our engines are already tuned to a point where reliability has to be suspect.
4. If the ECU is correctly tuned you should not need different programs as the ECU should read what you are asking of the engine. The only reason would be if you wanted a special lean program to pass emissions testing.

Ciao Carmine,
I own a LHD unit in Spain since 5 years ago. She is mostly trackday oriented but road legal too.
The new regulations about Co2 emissions are a big handicap to put the Ultima on the road as well as the safety regulations. In fact I'm convinced that legalize an Ultima in Spain today is a "mission impossible". Probably it will be similar for Italy and EECC countries.

1.i know there are 3 ultima imported 3 year ago in italy and take the plate ,one of it

i know also this builder sell ultima http://www.kitcar.it ,an my friend is an client an they build an spider this year..but anyway i eard it's possible whit more difficult.
The real problem is the rhd,if i need an only track car ins't an great problem but i want also use an bit on the road and dont think is the best solution..see few lhd in germany but cost the double of uk cars and unfortleney isn't my budget.
Bit ot. i see the good price of many ultima's on the uk market,if compare whit italian market for cars track oriented start to 35.000£ for an 2hand exige s ,driven one of my friend and it's really nice car but dont had more power, same acceralation my z3m,turn better, more sensation of speed, brake an bit better but for me isn't an great improve for me,ultima is another planet and can compare performance whit an gt3 or similar supercars..
I am really sorry to ask if it's reliable but unfortleney the ultima is rare in italy, the only ex owner i know tell me blow the motor after 10.000 milies, now eard had an minum of reliabe is an good news!
