The normal connections on the Pre-Cat speedo are a black flex with 2 cores Brown and Blue and a separate earth connection on the back.I have another speedo which looks identical but it has a grey flex with 2 cores Black and Red and a braided core with no insulation on (screen?)

My question is ,is this speedo compatible with the Brown and blue flex one?Is it off another model and can I use it.Do I just connect red where the brown was and black where the blue was?

Help Please

Could the other speedo you have be the type for the speed sensor on the diff - whereas the one you already have in your car uses the sensor in the gearbox?

Only if it is from a V8S - the 'normal' S has a V6 so even if you could get the electrical interfaces to work it would read wrong as it has 2 cylinders missing..... I think

This might help from the S forum - the OP has a V8S
