Hayabusa mod to take car gearbox
Discussion
Very interesting...
BUT - I would have thought that in something like a '7' the reverse gear problem has been pretty much solved and so having a CR, sequential 'box is a benefit, not a hinderance.
However, I could see that this might be good in a production car application, but i can't think of that many cars which would be light enough or have the correct gear ratios to make the most of it, especially when it is not likely to be cheap. I guess you could tune an Elyse k-series to more power/ torque than this, for less money and I doubt it will weigh 'that' much more.
I could see it being good in something like a midget or the like...

Some enterprising young lad on ebay already managed to mate a bike engine to a car box. The thing is, I suspect it now has 30 forward gear ratios and 5 reverse

joking aside i suspect he is only using the box for the diff and drive shafts. he has probalby locked it into the raito that gives good performance and then uses the Busa box to actually change gears....well thats how id do it. lol
Cinquecento projectChris.
