Browser performance - ubuntu/firefox

Browser performance appears to have died a bit of a death for me today when I have gassing pages loaded with the large sky ad in them.

I'm running ubuntu 8.10 and firefox 3.0.4.

It Sounds like a problem with one of the ads, I'll have a word with those responsible and see what they can do.

If you can spot which specific advert is causing the problem then let me know and we can get rid of it much faster.

As far a I can tell it's the large sky ad, the banner one seems ok but the sky one that is put on thread pages after a couple of posts seems to cause the slow down.

Actually, the problem only seems to occur when you have the large square sky £17 a month on the same page as the banner sky £17 a month one... maybe they share some resource?

It will be one specific advert which loads in that box, rather than all of them. next time it happens let me know the specific advert which is in that box, and i'll pass on the information about the likely culprit.

Last I heard they were 'looking in to it' but i've not heard anything since. Can you chase them up for me pete?
