Valet parking at NCP Stansted.......knobs
Discussion
As above, had the car valet parked (lots of reasons why) at Stansted for a week by NCP, anyhow the knobs managed to run it up a kerb and backed it off in panic, hence ripped the front nearside front skirt fixings through the bodywork.............
I didn't notice it until the next morning as I picked it up late Friday night and it was dark.
Quick phonecall, followed by letter, a quote by my local VXR specialist, and they have accepted full liability, so the car goes in for a new bumper and undertray on Sat for a week..............opportunity to get the wheels refurbished at the same time, graphite wheels coming up.
and I get to have a courtesy car from the insurers for the duration mines in being fixed...................they have offered the new shape M3, so I said "oh go on then"
piccies of the car when fixed and wheels refurbished will be posted

Similar thing happened to me at Gatwick North a few years back.
I had a TransAm at the time and they clearly went for a hoon in it (did the morons seriously think that the extra 50 miles wouldn't show?) and then managed to scrape it all the way along the car against a concrete bollard.
They re-painted it but tried to get me to sign it off when I picked the car up...when it was dark & raining!
Needless to say they ended up paying for a complete £2500 re-spray of the whole car PLUS compensation for the aggro PLUS compensation for the joy riding.
It cost them £4200 in the end for £80 worth of parking.

You get that and I get stuck with a diesel Saab?? No fair!!!!
What insurance company are you with?
It's the NCP insurers that are suppling a like for like car, they didn't have any VXR8's, it was either the M3 or a porker 4x4 thingy

I got a astra
may i add it was a dangerously slow astra
Have to say, I have not and would not ever use any valet parking service.
If you're still not convinced, just watch a re-run of Ferris Bueller!
But seriously.......if you valet park at Gatwick, keep an eye out of the plane window on the way back in. You can see them all "contact" parked. Hideous sight.

ask yourself what kind of person does it take to work in an airport valet parking service?

I own a valet parking company at Manchester Airport (www.mavp.co.uk). Our staff are all mature, experienced drivers. Several of them are early retired company directors who get bored of playing golf all day. Several have very tasty cars of their own and are under no pressure to drive fast.
Our business relies on trust. If that was broken, we wouldn't last long. If you are interested, I can show you over 600 customer feedback emails received in the last year of which all but three are complimentary. The three complaints were for a cracked windscreen last summer, an allegation of a grumpy driver and a dirty footprint on a drivers carpet mat. (we use paper mats now).
I've been in this business for 16 years now and have heard all of the horror stories, several of which have been true, but have involved other companies.

Block parking is ok. Contact parking is not. Can you tell the difference from in the sky?

No offence to your company or your procedures/practices, as I don't know you, but personally I'd rather walk than use a valet parking service.
