'Leaked' video reveals new shape for E-Class

Hot on the heels of yesterday's 'leaked' studio shots of the new E-class saloon comes this video of the Coupe Cabriolet version.

The video appears slightly stage-managed and could be part of Merc's pre-launch strategy, especially with one of the drivers grinning broadly to camera as he attempts to block the camera's view. (A single raised digit being the more usual response when unwanted cameras turn up at such events!)

Still, it's all good fun - and our first chance to see the oft-scooped model rolling in the new light of yesterday's undisguised saloon images.

Still wearing a disguise over it's robotised metal folding roof, the new E-class Coupe Cabriolet clearly shares much of the saloon's proportions and new styling themes. It will also share most of the engine options including the latest BlueTec diesels.

E-class Coupe?? Wouldnt this just be the new CLK? Being a metal folding top, there would be no need for a coupe and cabrio like present then?

Looks to me like another standard offering that will depreciate faster than a turd in the sun, have average performance with uninspiring looks.

By the look of that reversing maneuver the rear visibility isn't great!

That's what I thought! Do they really need a slightly bigger coupe than the clk in the range? It's not exactly a small car anyway... And there's already the CL and SL coupes

It seems like every time I drive up to Stuttgart, I see a Merc of some type draped in disguise.

I believe the E-class Coupe (or CC or what have you) is due to replace the CLK.
