Hi, I found this forum and thought someone may be able to help
The battery light on the dashboard of my freelander tdi automatic has started to permanently illuminate and only dissapears when the brake is used, as soon as the accelerator is depressed it appears again. This began yesterday morning. On my way home from work this evening the three yellow lights and the SRS light all illuminated. Unlike the battery light they remained on permantly and did not dissapear when the brake was used

Can anyone shed any light on why it has sudeenly started to do this, as you can guess from my description above I do not know alot about cars and I am hoping that it is somthing simple that I can fix without incurring the expense of a mechanic that I cannot afford this close to xmas

Thank you

Check the battery earth. MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE THE EKA CODE AND RADIO CODE FROM THE DEALER BEFORE PROCEDING

disconnect the battery and clean the terminals, replace the terminals and smear some vaseline on them. Check all the earth straps - engine to body etc. If they look secure, remove them and check for rust and replace once the contacts are cleaned.
