Dear readers, do tell me. Why is it that when I take down the Christmas tree from the loft, (which is usually hidden by all the crap my 3 lovely siblins have lovingly put up there over the years - and have now flown the nest leaving the crap up there).

And I take down the Christmas decorations, and put them up in the front room, then spend an hour or so, rebuilding the artificial tree, usually without the plans, lost somewhere, and then you layout the tree lights and turn them on.

EVERY YEAR, THEY DON'T BLOODY WORK. You put them away, everything works, take them down next year and THEY DON'T WORK.

Is it only me, or do we all have gremlins up in the loft who spend all year buggering your tree lights up.

I can't recall ever, they work first time, god, I could do without Christmas, and what on earth has a fir tree and bloody lights to do with Jesus Christ who was (apparantly) born in Bethlehem, do fir trees grow there, do they hell, and whats with the lights anyway.

Trying to tell the other half, we dont need a tree or lights, now the flock has flow, might have been easier teaching rocket science to a traffic warden.

But do enjoy your Christmas dear readers, even if your lights don't work.

I didn't bother trying, just bought a new set, much less hasstle.

What kind of tree have you that required "Plans" to "Rebuild it"

We got a big artificial to keep the house tidy, but it didn't smell the same apparently, so real branches are gathered and put at the base (which counters the original purpose of getting the artificial tree!)

One of these from Homebase, each tier you have to put the branches in, each tier is colour coded, each tier branch is longer than the one before it........just drives me nuts.

I bought some quality outdoor ones to replace the crap ones from Homebase/B&Q last year which lasted exactly 1 month.

lights4fun.co.uk - quality stuff - you get what you pay for.

No connection etc, but enjoy the video where they drive over them in their car, with no effect!

The loft gremlins spend 11 months of the year tying the tree lights in impenetrable knots taking several hours to detangle usually ending up in them being knackered and a new set being purchased.

maybe you should do what i did last year and that was instead of taking the tree to bits and taking off the lights, simply put the tree complete with decorations and lights back in the loft in one piece then bring it down in one peice again this year.
mines a poxy two piece job that looks like a pair of kids decorated and stuck lights to it (cos my kids did just that last year and to be honest i don't care either LOL)
plugged it in and it worked no problem.
£3 lights from asda last year, cheap, looks cheap, who cares,

Christmas, bah humbug!
