I'm afraid its unlikely to be the fuse. It's either the final stage resistor which controls the fan and its functions, which is a common failure point but one which usually manifests itself in ways other than simply no fan, or its the heater blower motor itself.

I had exactly the same problem as you. It was the heater blower motor, and I had BMW replace it at a cost of £330.

Can't remember where the fuse is unfortunately.

The failed final stage resistor, or hedgehog, will cause things like erratic blower motor speed, and the blower coming on with the car off and flattening your battery. Although it can cause the blower to not work, this is rare.

Both myself and a friend have 2001 530i's - and they both follow the same pattern of stuff going wrong. We've both had the same issue and both times it was the heater blower motor.
