We are having a departmental meeting next week, and have been pre warned that the "icebreaker" introduction activity is "what superpower would you have and why".

I've always wanted a lightsabre, and my reasoning is thus:

1. Slice bagel AND toast it in one move
2. Reheat coffee (albeit carefully to ensure you don't "polo" the mug)
3. Generally cutting related activity

Also, being a Jedi comes with some useful skills, notably being able to make the lightsabre for all your cutting related needs, but in order to make sure I have all the bases covered I'm asking for suggestions.

So far all I can think of is:

1. Lift vehicle without using jack when needing to change a tyre
2. Mind control during pay rise time

Anything else?

Laser eyes. So you can vaporise idiots who think a meeting needs an "icebreaker activity".

I'd avoid anything religious in inter departmental gatherings, just too controversial.....

My special power would be a large powerful fist to smash the faces of people in who think these kind of activities are of any use, ever.

Unless of course your business is in the business of selling superpowers.

You need to plant a microphone and speaker in the meeting room so that when someone asks where you are, you can say "I'm here, I'm invisible".

I'd be torn between wolverine (avec adamantium) or anyone that can Fly.

Rogue's fly and super strength are cool, but not being able to knob the missus would suck.

Superman's skills are just overpowered IMO.

Jedi is a good one, I'd need a lightsaber, an R2 unit and a Speeder Bike to really make it worthwhile.

Can you only speak about your super power if you're the one holding the brightly coloured ball?

Arrange with a friend to make a sarcy comment when you've finished (such as "Well Jedis are a bit st")

You reply with Darth Vader- style "You disappoint me" whereupon mates grabs his throat, chokes, staggers about a bit then collapses on the floor.

You could scare everyone there by doing something out of the ordinary. Just for a laugh, I know its a bit radical and might get you into trouble, but why not go to the department meeting and get some work done. You know, achieve something. Earn your wages.

Our "icebreakers" usually start with the understanding that everyone present is an adult.

I didn't want to do the ice breaker, however my boss thinks they are a good idea. I call them "slow creeping death".

Last year I suggested that we actually spend the December meeting actually doing some work, as we only get together as a department twice a year. We managed 2 hours of sense in the whole day.

I like the idea of getting a stooge to do the dying bit.
