The company went into administration 2 weeks back along with Woolies and despite E.UK demonstrating good annual profit it requires huge working capital. Banks reluctant to pass on McBrowns goodwill and supplier btty thing to do just before christmass, surely they could have told you in Jan!hing are what we were told caused the downfall of E.UK. The last interested party pulled out earlier this week.

I am also leaving a large UK Consultancy in 2 weeks - expensive Contractor - this is the second time as they did the same to me last year at Crimbo (got me back in June).
HoHum - At least I will be in Cape Town for 3 weeks whilst Brown leads the country into New Year Economic Meltdown...

I think that the new bloke at Woolies, Steve Johnson, was going to turn things around. Seems he's just managed to ruin a number of decent* businesses. Shame. I think there was a great opportunity there but it seems there's only bad news coming out of the whole sorry affair.

* not Woolies as it was towards the end, that needed to change. I think it COULD have been a great business given the right management
Bloody hell.
I thought EUK was just about the only part of the business that could be sold off easily.
There are going to be a hell of a lot of shops out there won't get their CD / DVD / games supplies now - including some very big names on the high street.
