Mk 4 R32 Headlight washers

Hi all,

Random question but it's been bugging me. I recently lost one of my headlight washer covers from my front bumper which has got me thinking...

How do you use them, i cannot find any switch and they dont work when i use the windscreen washer. Plus anyone know of a cheap place online to buy a new cover!?

They work in conjunction with the screenwash, but only activate when you've got your headlights on.

Pull the stork back and hold it there for a couple of seconds.(with headlights on)

Try a search of the Tyresmoke.net R32 forum. Someone on there was also looking for a washer cover about a year ago.

The covers come prepainted. I lost one early in cars life. To fit was a matter of gentle pull out and clip on.

On another note they are a pain to sit flat since they froze a couple of years back

For what it's worth I got a cover from the VW dealer, bought some spray paint and lacquer as well and fitted them quite easily. Whole thing cost about £25. Only problem is that it doesn't sit aswell as the original one, cannot work out why though...
