i have around £300 to spend on a bike, im after peoples opinions on what would be best suited to my needs!

i will mostly be riding trails, toe paths and the like and i only want a hardtail so no full suspension bikes please, i dont want to be having to start changing things on the bike so i would like a well rounded spec.

thanks

cant see you getting much better than http://www.evanscycles.com/products/gt/outpost-200... or http://www.evanscycles.com/products/scott/aspect-6... or http://www.evanscycles.com/products/specialized/ha... whichever of those three you get is personal preference they are about the same in terms of components. the specialized will be heavy, for some reason cheaper specializeds always are but they are bombproof. it also has the shortest forks which will make light trails and tow paths easy work.

have heard bad things about claud butler build quality but then i am sure if you ask enough people you will hear bad stories about every bike manufacturers build quality.

looks good in terms of spec, quite an agressive stance though, buy it.

i have also looked about and i have different brakes on it too!!

i have hayes nine's instead of hayes sole i am hoping that is a good thing as i have looked at the review of the sole's and a lot of people really didnt rate them.

Hayes Nines are much better brakes as they're twin pot rather than the single pot that the Soles have. Means they won't need continual adjustment either. Enjoy! Looks a nice bike for the money smile

You've done well there - Hayes nines on a bike for £329 is amazing value. I had HFX9's on my old Giant Trance full susser, and prefer them to the Juicy 3's on my FSR xc Expert I've got now. (the Trance got stolen, and the Spesh was the insurance replacement.)

i took it out first its first "proper" ride yesterday and i cant be more pleased with it!

i do have a sore ass but what can i expect after being off a bike for so long!! (moto x bike seats are ssooo much comfier) biggrin

me and a friend went riding around the irwell between swinton, farnworth and bury and it felt fantastic, the brakes are now bedded in nicely and working faultlesly even tho they are a little noisy when wet (i can live with that), i am gonna have to get some chain gaurd stickers as i have started taking chips out of my frame furious

overall, well pleased cloud9
