Afternoon ladies and gents, never posted on the part of PH before.

Cousin has just bought a SL280, beautiful car.

Slight issue with the centre console. The armrest moves back but does not open up and the slideable compartment just behind the gearstick will not budge. These are the only issues in this otherwise mint example.

Just wondering is there a catch to these or are they a common problem?

Are the compartments locked? They are lockable and lock with the central locking or on a turn of the key in the slot on the passenger side of the dashboard adjacent to the air vents.
