Matt "Plotloss" and his Multiroom Company

This is a er "big it up" for our very own Plotloss and his Audio Visual company .
I'd been looking for a whole house audio and video system and I finally got the equipment through Matt's company about a month ago.
Multiroom consists of a central brain area (node zero) containing various sources (radio, media centre with film and music, satellite decoder and even CCTV etc). Any and all of these sources can be accessed through intuitive keypads/touchscreens flush mounted around the house in various "zones". Some sources can be shared by multiple users at the same time and can play different songs or channels for each user.
This is then piped around the house- audio through built in ceiling (usually) speakers (and video displayed on flatscreens if available).
Another rather nifty source involves an Ipod dock where the Ipod content can be displayed on the keypads and played in each zone. I have mine flush mounted in the living room so for exampe if friends bring their Ipods round they can plug it in and away they go.
It's a real pleasure having the music you want, where you want it-the bathroom in the morning for example or the kitchen whilst cooking. Video is just as accessable, it just depends on where you put the screens.
As far as sound quality goes there is a choice of speakers and I went for the middle of the road ones price/quality wise. This gives a volume too loud too have a conversation (if so desired!) and decent sound quality. (If you want to, you can choose audiophile speakers but quite honestly I don't see the point.)
I'm fairly handy with DIY stuff so Matt supplied the gear (and a LOT of very helpful advice!) and I installed it. He is quite happy to do a custom install though and this is what folk normally choose.
I'm really, really happy with system and am currently having fun putting all my CD's on the media server. I've also just discovered how to have internet radio in the system also.
Next I will plumb in my decoder so I can watch English telly in the various zones(French TV is appalling).
Later on I will put up CCTV outside and then this can be accessed from inside. So if I hear a strange noise at two in the morning I will just push a button on a keypad to see what's going on outside without having to get out of bed!
In fact the possibilities are endless and this system can be wired into and communicate with other domotic systems(Matt will explain!).

Yeah. Whilst we're at it - I'd like to big up Tom for helping me choose my fleet of super-cars. That Zonda choice was inspired Tom.
