Electric door catches on a classic?

I am contemplating removing my rusty pitted and broken door handles from my 2500M and instead fitting a solenoid type system as fitted to the more modern cars....Keep the doorline nice and smooth as well!

Does anyone have any information on the system that the modern cars use?


How do TVR suggest you get into the car if the battery fails?
