Treat your car this christmas to a new catch tank! they are of terrible quality and they normally do go like this as engine oil vapour and moisture collect in here along with big chunks of rust as its made from mild steel!! then it falls straight down the return to your sump! My advice to you is bin it!
The coolant level seems pretty constant at just under full.
What would you say is lots of short runs? I use it daily to/from work which is 16 miles each way.
I looked down the front turbo air intake..could see some more oil...so took the pipe off and there is oil (black not creamy) in the pipe and on the lip of the turbo...enough to drip down when i took the pipe off....i'm assuming this is bad or could it be yet another thing the dealer missed when putting things back together after my gearbox refurb?
It had been a bit smokey when cold the last week but just thought it was because of the weather.

As Gaz said get a new catch tank. Should sort things out nicely.
OK I checked the inside of the oil filler cap and it's just black, no residue.
I had cleaned all the crap from the front turbo air intake though and after taking it to/from work today had a look back in it and there was this much oil in it...now I hadn't checked the oil level since having it back from the dealer so did today and it was just above the max hole, would this cause more oil in the air intake than expected?
