Punto Electrical help
Discussion
Wonder if nyone can help.
I have a 2001 Punto which has developed starting problems. You turn the key in the ignition and it turns over very slowly, then eventually speeds up and starts. Sometimes tho after 4 or 5 slow turnovers the battery goes completely flat. I thought it was the starter solenoid so I changed the starter motor but no different. Alternator knocks out 14v and the battery seems to hold charge.
I've also started to noice that when I turn the ignition on something elctrical start ups and whmakes a whirring noise for about 5 secs, then a click in the fusebox when it stops. I cannot for the life of me find where its coming from tho, it seems to be the back of the car.
Any ideas?

Still sounds to me like the battery has had it, if it's around four years old don't discount it,.... irrespective of any "readings" on meters...
Obviously make sure the terminals are clean and tight, and the earth to the chassis is sound....
A battery for a Punto is not expensive anyhow....
Good luck.....
