Converting audio tapes to CD

VHS to DVD, buy a DVD recorder and plug your VHS player in or buy a VHS DVD combo recorder. That is the quickest and easiest way.

You can record from a standard cassette player using the mic/line in on your laptop. Not sure what software you use on a PC, I'm on Mac and use Audio Hijack Pro. This will work out the breaks if they are long enough and there is no noise on the tape.

Use any tape deck with phono outs.

For the video to DVD you will need a video capture card somthing like this

you might find for the amount of time and hassle that it's easier to buy the albums on CD or download them?

Bought myself a Tape2PC gizmo, looks like an ordinary tape player, works find, just very time consuming, but the results are excellent.

ARound 80 quid I think. Can't remember where I got it from though, a google should find it for you.

Still probably easier to buy them..! If they're older, there'll be loads of cheap ones around on eBay or Amazon Used. Quality will also be miles better (tapes tend to degrade severely over time).
