I have a coupon for 500 usd off a set of heads obtained from the aetc conference I went to in Florida.

That's about 22% off.

Will swap for a dozen ales smile

Ideally suit pureist NA fellow. But good for evil FI bods as well.

PM me if interested.

That still makes them more expensive than a pair of WCCH CNC'd L92's which flow more air than the 225 Mongoose'. Have you got a WCCH $500 voucher Rich?

Nope, but its not all about an airflow number mate.

Plenty of afr heads will blow away L92's.
A flow bench is only a tool. the bigger the hole the bigger a number you get. But a dymamic engine bears no resemblance to the low pressure constant pressure flow bench.

Area under the curve etc.

Take a look on ls1tech re LS7 vs TFS235 heads.. the bigger flow heads lost!

But I agree the wcch heads are very nice. I saw some sets at PRI. Patriots are pretty bad in comparison. These days Id go L92 because all the new parts are L92 based. Old cathedrals are dead. Check out the new crane shaft rockers for L92 they are real nice.

Ok mate.
Do your research and let me know. Talk to Tony at AFR he can give you a good run down and recommend stuff.

Im guessing 205's and a fast intake with cam to suit your required power delivery.
I got 386rwhp with my LS1 but with a higher lift cam and the afr's you "should" touch 400. Supporting mods accepted smile

I really need to look at options and price. I am tempted by Monkfish's head pack. Whats the retail on the AFR's and what would be a good cam for emissions I presume I'd have to go fast90 so would need an uprated MAF wink

Afr's are about 2400 from memory.

Why are you soiling the thread with a MAF? smile

Im not sure what heads and cam is in the monkfish pac. But last I knew it was 243 stock cstings, which are pretty pointless IMO depending on what you want. Ask yourself what bhp you want first then select parts based on that.

Maybe consider cam only if you are not shooting too high. TR have a 215/230 high lift cam designed for cali emssions.

I think Roger is doing some cam experiments to find something that passes but adds power. He might like some more guinea pigs.

tbh I had thought about cam only as an option whatever way it goes the work will be undertaken at Monkfish (asuming they want it biggrin) so I'll discuss optins with them first.

Stiggy, I bought a pair of Trickflows a while back. They are truly top quality castings and I was amazed at the price and the quality. Iirc they were something like $2000 USD or less and they are way superior to stock ls1/6 heads. They seem to be readily available direct from the US. I'd also considered ETP's but they weren't in stock and I got the impression that happened quite a lot. The exchange rate won't make much of a difference as far as heads are concerned.

Check this out Stig.

This is the whole darn kit. Just add a cam and tune for about 60-70 HP.

I think he should resleeve to 4.185 and combine with a 4.250 stroke for a 454 then he can use them smile
Have you ordered yours yet? Mark at Rapid said he might have some at a good price, but needs to get a few guys to order together.

Probably best just to call them on the phone. The guy I got my engine from deals with them. I can put you on to him if you like.

Potentially looking at a set of AFR 225's for when I get round to pulling the engine out of mine, but at this rate won't be till summer/autumn next year.

How longs the voucher good for smile

I don't think you need to pull the motor just to do the heads, unless your doing something else?
