Congratulations to Chris Hoy!
For me Chris winning the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award is recognition not only for his success at the Olympics, winning 3 Gold Medals and becoming the most successful British Olympic athlete in 100 years, but also for over a decade of dedication to his sport. This is something no other candidate on the shortlist could match.

Lewis Hamilton, whilest he is without question an exceptionaly talented driver who I whole-heartedly support, he has won only his first (of hopefully many) world title. His chance to be SPOTY will come again.

i was forbidden from voting for Romero but then Mrs P knows that it would have been nothing to do with Ms Romero's cycling abilities and more about her appearance in a cycling suit...

My sentiments too and precisley why I voted for him, Congratulations to all the GB cyling team. Perhaps the result shows how few people now follow F1.
