E30 Turbo.....
Discussion
Best place to get info on UK turbo'd e30s is: http://www.e30zone.net/
There's a US equivalent site as well, can't remember url though, which is great for techy info.
I have one I've been turboing for a year or so now. No plans to sell it though as I'd get back a fraction of what it's cost me. I'll just keeping developing it till I get it right. Had it running on 10psi briefly and it was stupidly quick for a 20 year old 325!
It's great as a project and can make for a very fast car, just bear in mind it aint gonna be cheap!

More composed maybe but faster for less....erm, not necessarily so. Bear in mind an e30 weighs not a lot compared to more modern performance bargains such as M5s etc and with a reasonable sized turbo and the right tuning can produce 300bhp pretty easily on standard internals.
If you go the scrapyard/second hand route you can do it reasonably cheaply. I used new parts because I didn't want to be mucking around fixing used broken bits every 5 mins.
There's also a great sense of satisfaction from making a quickish car into a bloody fast car from your own labours as well.
