Sports Personality (sic) of the Year is borderline tolerable, but do we really need to vote by telephone? Another cock-up yesterday when someone realised, far, far too late to rig the judging, that Slightly Dull Prancing voting couldn't actually influence the outcome, so the votes are "carried forward to next week". Every 5 minutes we hear "don't call yet because your vote won't count but you may still be charged".
Instead of all this dross, interspersed with caveats, could we not go back to the good old days where we used the telephone to speak to our relatives and perhaps occasionally order a curry?
