Wandered from our current flat (Putney) down to our new place in Wandsworth on Sunday and found myself walking past and then sticking myself to the windows at Joe Macari for about 30mins. He has an F40 next to an F50 next to an F599.

The F40 has sooooooo much presence and still looks so mean and modern compared to a lot of 'recent' supercars. It is still, easily, my dream car and is just so bloody beautiful, to my eyes.

If only I had the £250k! Maybe I shouldn't have bought the new place, but at least I can go and stare at it every night! If you own one, you are on very, very lucky person! I can't help but feel that, although we may be able to 'afford' one in the future, I would never be able to justify it to myself - Perhaps I should be playing the lottery!?

Gorgeous!

I was down looking at flats at a new development (ipsus something or other) literally across the road from there a few weeks back. Spent as much time staring in the window as looking at the flat. Some awesome cars, the modified F50 was at the front.

I saw someone driving that about 3 months ago up the A3, everyone was almost hitting each other because no one was looking where they were going!

The only one I know of is the 'Ownership' experience - which costs about £250k!

Can you imagine the waiting list for a driving day that included an F40?!

I don't think my missus would be too pleased if I binned the flat and told her we were sleeping in an F40! LOL!

It is just sooooo beautiful! I know the Ipsus flats, right opposite! We looked at a repossession just behind there a few weeks back. If I lived there, I think I would be permanently staring through Macari's window. They have some stock! A Veyron, twin turbo F50 etc etc - Madness!

There is just something about the F40 though. I would love to know if there is an F40 experience anywhere, it would be worthwhile, I am sure of that!

I do miss the sights of London. Saw a California last night in Basel though. Thought it was a 599 only to be disappointed. Just as horrid in the flesh IMO

someone over here in Tuscany recently sold their F40 and replaced it with a 430 Scuderia. I remember the F40 passing us on the motorway at 150+ mph and seeing him zoom pass the police which had just arrived at their mobile speed camera spot... I was in histerics seeing the policemen trying their best to get the camera on the tripod in time ! Of course that did not happen..

Solicitor just called and Exchange is happening this week...

No F40 for teh next decade for me! frown

I would NEVER have an F430 (even a Scud) over an F40, but I would have one while I waited! smile

There is an Experience day where the F40 is one the cars you get to drive, can't remember where I saw it though.

I also know someone who went on one and he said that they would barely let him past 5k : /

I am not suprised they wont let him past 5k... That's when the turbo kicks in and all hell breaks loose!! Major turbo lag in the F40 - but IMO it's this kind of 80's engineering that makes the F40 so special!! What a car.
Joe Macari is the MAN too!

I know what you mean Dom.

As crowd pullers go very few cars are in the same league, possibly the Enzo is up there.

These saved from past PH posters for your viewing pleasure.

Caught this Enzo in the Square looking down into the Brompton Road a few weeks back:

A possible contender:

I like the F50 as well, just not nearly as much as the F40!

That McLaren looks nice, above though!
