Is that per week or month?
That is no average household, maybe the average person per the nonsense poll undertaken in the trafford centre on a Weds afternoon!
If I only spent that little on housing I could afford all the beer and dining out......!!

£11.20 on beers and fags? What pubs are these people drinking in? £11.20 wouldn't see enough change for a second pint if you bought 20 tabs on the way to the pub!
So the Office for National Statistics didn't bother to state the time period over which their figures were relevant...?
Anyway, enjoy it while it lasts - this time next year we'll all be gnawing raw potatoes like Russian dissidents in Siberia.

Even those on benefits pay £50 a week for renting a crappy flat. I can only imagine that the retired and those with mortgages paid off are skewing the housing cost number.
I mean how on earth can more be spent on transport than on housing?
