Ford 2.8 ignition problem
Discussion
Hello, I have a TVR S1 fitted with a 2.8 Ford Cologne engine (I know this is the Wedge forum but I think some wedges were fitted with the same engine). The problem is the following : when I turn the ignition "on" there is no voltage at the coil; there is only voltage when I disconnect the wiring loom coming from the Bosch electronic distributor.I swap the dizzy , change the amplifier module, check all the connection, no result.I don't understand why the coil voltage dissapears when I plug the wiring in the dizzy, no matter the position of the rotor is.
If somebody could help...
Thank you

I assume you understand the ballast resister ignition system.
12 volts supplied from start position of key during operation of the starter.
Then 12 volts is supplied from the ON position of key via the big blue wire (ballast resister) and should be around 8.5 Volts on one side of the coil.
So first look for voltage in both key positions (start then run)
Then I would look for a ground in your distributor.
By that I mean a false ground. Possibly from your alarm.
