flap missing

does anyone know what car the heater vents under the windscreen and on each side of the dash are from?

One of the flaps is missing on 1 of mine,ive been to ford but they said theyve never seen one like that.

Also can anyone tell me where i can get some of those little black plastic drawing pin things that hold the fabric round the steering column?

ps im loving this forum its hepled me on quite a few things now,which normaly i would of had done at a garage costing stupid money,so thanks again for all your help

a few of us on here have gone down the audi tt vents route .very simple and a better look imo

Audi TT vents fit if you cant find originals, others on here will tell you what model year (circa 2000 I think).

Wouldn't bother changing those - they are pretty invisible as they are and it would make the top look too blingey (imho). 2 face level vents in Audi TT mode look good.

Remove the whole dash, which is actually pretty straightforward.
But I agree that replacing those with the TT vents might look a bit much.
The standard ones are pretty unobtrusive.

I think the standard ones are the same as in a Lotus Elise by the way.

I've had my dash out a couple of times and have never had to remove the screen to get it out.

That's a very good question.

I've had almost the whole car apart since owning it.
When I got the car I figured that I had better learn as much about the car as possible as I'm somewhat reluctant to pay the exhorbitant labour rates you see being charged and to be honest I enjoy working on the car anyway.
So I downloaded the build manual and set about doing various bits.
Had the engine and gearbox out for quite a while, for a clutch change, and while it was out I decided to relocate all the electrics onto the firewall behind the driver inside the cabin. Moved the battery to that side of the firewall aswell.
Next job on the list of things will be the floor as I've got sodden carpets.

audi grimsby? are you from the area as i also live in grimsby
doncaster motor spares are breaking 4 tt,s so might be a place to get some.also edition 38 had some tts for parts also.the vents close and are directional

No not from grimsby im a lancashire lad,came across audi grimsby on ebay he lists a few bits on there and he quoted me for the vents.
