I thought about trading in my Gallardo and buying one a year or so ago but never got round to it. Anyway there were a few things that put me off buying one, firstly there was a year waiting list and i just couldn't wait that long. Also i couldn't find a used manual one about. There was (and still is) one for sale on auto trader, but it's a hideous colour.

I was just wondering did Lamborghini actually sell more than 2 of them in manual or are they all bl**dy e-gear?

I too share your dislike of e-gear and would far prefer a manual lp640. The rare manual car for sale at winchester was draco verde (personally I quite liked it) but they are respraying it white I'm told. You may prefer that.

I have a manual Gallardo and didn`t like the e gear Gallardo I tried, but I have driven an e gear lp640 and wouldn`t go manual, you need both hands on the wheel at all times and all your faculties about you

There are manual's around but they are hard to find. Had to wait 7 months for our LP640 with a manual box. Much as though I love Lambo's I still think their egear's are not quite up with Ferrari's paddleshift. The 360 Stradale I drive a lot has a slightly quicker and smoother change than the egear Gallardo's I've driven including the Superleggera

How would the respray affect the residual?

Aye, here's my problem with flappy paddle stuff. It gets out of date every year as they bring out a new one. Imagine how pony an early e-gear feels compared to the latest lambo stuff. The Vanquish for example wouldn't feel half so dated to drive with a manual. So an 08 LP640 is going to feel like that in a few years. The manual LP640 however will still be a delight to drive 50 years from now.

To the repaint residuals question, I don't think the garage could care less about that they're just desperate to sell it. Clearly someone there seems to think it was the colour that was holding it back. It was verde draco with anthracite wheels (stunning in my eyes) and they seem to think it's too understated for a Murcielago. I suppose white is very in vogue at the moment.
