throttle @ revese light

Hi throttle has started to stick slightly mainly below 3000 rpm. Is fine if your quick on the gas and change gear it releases, but if you in town trying to drive slowly and smoothly it will not return fully. I greased linkage under floor tray and out side throttle bodys but no better. Will it be throttle cable that may require lubricating ? Revese light light also is not working, any pointers please ? Sounds like the inner cable starting to fray. For the cost i'd replace it before it breake and you get stranded.

The brake light is a little microswitch placed behind the gear box that when you select reverse it clicks the microswitch to turn on light. Its a real pain and is very fiddly! Sometimes it moves and reverse light can come on when you select 4th etc... It just needs lining up and about an hour of messing holding it in place so it does not move anymore...

As for throttle question as above. Get it looked at before it goes completely.

I have had the throttle sticky problem. Fitted new cable and cleaned the pedal box and good as gold now...

Could you tell me how to gain access to the micro-switch for the reverse light,it strangly comes on some times selecting 5th if pushing forward on the lever !

Also can the throttle cable be a do it your self job, or a dealer and a lift required ?
