We went to Wagamamas in Leopold Square in Sheffield tonight and it was excellent. very fresh, well seasoned and expertly cooked food with good surroundings and value.

Who has been and what do you think of Wagas?

For fast, casual food I think it's brilliant.

I'm fond of Wagamamas, although I've only really done lunch there -might be a bit 'canteeny' for evening? Never had a bad meal. I could get bored with the menu if I went too often though...

They are reliable for take-out too if you live close by and the usual takeaway options don't grab you. Catered for an a egg allergic friend brilliantly. Bit costly though.

Only negative point is that they don't sell Duck gyozas by the bucket/wheelbarrow-ful.

Been to the one in Windsor and the one at the South Bank.

Both overpriced, mediocre and full of wkers.

Not unlike UK 2008 plc.

Not a fan either. Food, service and seating are all sub par IMO.

Not sure why anyone bothers with them in london, better, cheaper options around every corner.

Can also agree with all 3 sentiments here, unfortunately. Add to that some very poor service, too. I'll wager that there's far nicer options within a small radius anywhere where you'll find a Wagamamas.

They're very good whenever I've gone - and another vote for katsu curry!

I had one bad experience there and they couldn't have fallen over themselves more to put things right, was incredibly impressed by their customer service

LOVE Wagamamama - the one in the Printworks (Manchester) is fantastic, never ever had a problem there.

Canary Wharf one is good as well, apart from if you get there later on in the evening, you can almost guarentee they have run out of Edamamae bean cry I am soo addicted to them.

For all you lovers of Chicken Katsu Curry simply get some chicken escallopes from the supermarket and a pot of curry sauce from the chippy.

To make it authentic, boil your own rice.

I've always found Waga's food to be hot, fresh, very tasty, and good value.
It's fast food agt its finest.

Pretty poor quality japanese food tbh - the soups invariably taste like dishwater, katsu curry is just as horrible as a Findus Crispy Pancake in chipshop curry sauce, and I've been made sick after eating one of their gyozas.

we have proper japanese restaurants that would appreciate our business...support them :/

Where's the salad though? It's the curry salad that makes it.

And i'll also need to source a short, slightly unwashed european to serve it for the full effect.

Only been once and had the ramen. Tasted nothing like the ramen I had in Japan. The sad thing is, where I am, we had a really good Japanese restaurant, it closed down and then a Wagamamas opened up 50 yds from its door. Sad to see that a second rate Japanese fast food outlet can get the punters in, when an authentic Japanese Restaurant (same prices and better setting) can't.

But I don't go to Wagamamas for a proper japanese restaurant, I go to Wagamamas because the food tastes nice.

I don't think anyone is saying the food is authentic Japanese?
