As title, my mechanic is looking to sell an 'R' plate Defender 110 with 17k on the clock from new, I had a quick look over it earlier and it looks in a very good condition, any idea what the asking price would be for one of these?

Thanks

That is potentially quite valuable I would say. Especially for all the people who dont like the more modern electrically controlled ones.

I am not sure I want to try and guess its value, but I would say if its condition is in keeping with its mileage, and it hasnt done all of those miles on a cattle farm, or launching boats it could be worth 6-10k maybe...

To the right buyer anyway!

yeah that will make a biG difference. Is it really? a 2.5 petrol..? You can probably halve that figure.

I didnt think they were available in 98....

Could it be a 2.8 BMW engined South African Landover. Can't believe it's a 2.5P

Ok, chatted with my mechanic briefly and the Defender is definately a 2.5 petrol, it is ex-army used as a demonstrator he thinks, and was used overseas as the mileage is in KM's (27000)
mechanic said it is a '96 model which is a bit strange as it is wearing an 'R' plate, it was put in for an MOT yesterday which it sailed through.
