Football is in a cash bubble supported by TV deals so unless clubs start to go bust on a monthly basis nothing will give until the TV contracts are due for renewal.

The revenue from ticket sales is not important to the majority of clubs at the higher levels.

The motorsports market has been bad for sometime.

Mind you the failure of the sport to effectivly market itself is also part of the issue.

I'd imagine Ford will now leave the WRC, not much point in staying anymore. Toyota must be considering opting out of F1 too no point tooling about at the back of the grid spending stupid amounts of money, especially now they no longer have Honda there to make them look good and lets face it, how many Toyotas are sold on the back of the F1 effort?

I'm seeing it on a weekly basis in Club Racing (bikes)

I race with BMCRC and an event was held last week at Brands to introduce rookies to their class. I was quite surprised at how few there was.

We were quite lucky last season in having one of the biggest grids time and time again. Judging what I have seen on our forum and talking to people last week, I am gauging that we will be down to 75% at the start of the season, and if things get worse, 50% by the time we have done a few meetings.
